Chasing Butterflies
Wednesday Apr 1 2020

When I began painting this piece, I wanted to transform the spray from the wave into many tiny white butterflies as they playfully flew from the white horses chasing them. While I was painting the butterflies, our sweet 14 year old yellow lab Buster passed away.

Weeks later when I was able to continue on this piece, I decided to create a butterfly for him that looks like the letter “B”. That inspiration led me to painting the whole alphabet hidden quietly into a butterfly, for every loved one who has fluttered out of our lives and into God’s arms.
